What Should I Get Her?
Gifting your Cancer Fashionista™ can be tricky. You want her to feel pampered and happy, but that doesn’t mean that everything has to be pink. Or have pink ribbons all over it. Not that I have an issue with pink ribbon merchandise because I don’t. I’m just saying let’s have an open mind and have some fun with this! Here are some of my suggestions:

Sweet Dreams
OK so here’s the deal. When your hair starts to fall out, your scalp is verrrrry sensitive. Cotton pillows will catch on your hair. Not fun. I mentioned this dilemma to my Mom and before I could say chemotherapy, I had two beautiful satin pillowcases delivered to my doorstep. I still enjoy them today with my new locks. Buy not one, but two from Morning Glamour.

What’s For Dinner?
Everyone undergoing treatment has different appetite issues. Sometimes you’re hungry, and other times you can’t even think about food. One of the best gifts that I received was a gift card to a local (healthy) restaurant. My family and I were able to order dinners and lunches as needed. Another go-to resource for me was The Cancer Fighting Kitchen by Rebecca Katz. The book is a must-have, but I’d suggest taking it one step further by making a batch of Magic Mineral Broth for your friend or loved one. It’s like a big, giant hug in every bowl. I’m serious.

Drink Your Water!
I was not good at drinking my 64oz per day before my breast cancer. So when I learned how important my H20 intake was during chemo, I realized that I needed to do something to take the boredom out of drinking plain old water. Check out the BPA Free Fruit Infused Water Bottle by Young & More . I still love it. Infuse it with whatever seems appealing to you at the moment. Cucumber and basil is lovely, strawberry is always nice, and a citrus combo of orange, lemon and lime always hits the spot.

What Do I Say?
I recently stumbled upon these fantastic greeting cards (I admit it, I was flipping through my Facebook feed on the 4th grade pickup line)). If you haven’t heard of Emily McDowell Studio yet, you will soon. They’re getting tons of press and understandably so. Check them out and you’ll see why.
