These Bras Totally Rock!
These Bras Totally Rock!
After breast cancer surgery and chemo, the last thing you want to do is think about what kind of bra you should be wearing. Your shape and size is now different, you’re discouraged from wearing underwire, and you may even be wondering if you even need to wear at bra at all. This will likely leave you staring at your underwear drawer, wondering what your next move is.
So where does that leave us, the gals who love pretty lingerie and simply feel more completely “dressed” and comfortable in a bra? I have two words for you: AnaOno.
Dana Donofree, Founder of AnaOno Intimates, is the answer to our prayers. I couldn’t agree more with her mantra, “We encounter many challenges during breast cancer treatment, our underwear drawer shouldn’t be one of them.”
This special brand is one of the first of its kind to offer bras and lingerie exclusively for women who have had surgery related to a breast cancer diagnosis. All shapes, sizes and surgeries fit into her lingerie, from uniltaeral to FLAP surgery, to enhancement. It’s no surprise that Dana is both a fashion designer AND a breast cancer survivor (click here to read her story). In my opinion, Ana Ono Intimates seamlessly marries these two worlds. Dana is as beautiful as her lingerie is, both inside and out. Her tagline says it all: “With AnaOno, you are NEVER ALONE.” And the cake topper? Portions of all purchases benefit a variety of breast cancer organizations including the Young Survival Coalition and Living Beyond Breast Cancer .
Let’s take a closer look at her collection, shall we? When I asked Dana what her customer faves were, she said The Rachel bra is on the top of the list. They just re-stocked this special collection after popular demand, so be sure to get one while you can! If you’re looking for a comfortable wire-free bra post breast surgery, this one is for you. This lace bra is pretty awesome because it has the classic cup shape without underwires.
According to Dana, the Sandi and Jennifer are “super duper comfy.” The Sandi is ideal to wear after a surgical procedure or if you have a restricted range of motion. The front closure helps the ease of getting in and out of your bra while keeping you comfortable with the super soft, super comfy eco-friendly bamboo jersey.
The Jennifer sports bra is the perfect everyday lifestyle bra, and it’s not just for breast cancer survivors. It is comfy yet supportive, so you can wear it when you’re running errands and hanging out at home or even during your toughest workout. I love the super luxe, super soft sustainable bamboo and spandex fabric. It’s like butta!

P.S. If you have a friend or family member who has undergone breast reconstruction, give her an AnaOno gift card. She will LOVE it! Thank you Dana for creating this very special brand, and making us feel beautiful and NEVER ALONE.
