I CAN’T STOP SMILING. THANK YOU WARRIOR REVOLUTION!
Oh lordy, I haven’t written a blog post in a while. But it’s for a good reason! October was a whirlwind but in a good way. Just a couple of weeks ago, I attended my second Warrior Revolution retreat. The first one was a one-day event in NYC and honestly, I thought that one was amazing. But this one took place in Kennebunkport, Maine over the course of two incredible days and I can’t even begin to tell you how impactful it was on so many levels, but I will try. Here it goes.
The one thing that I really didn’t have when I was going through treatment was a solid community of thrivers. Women who have already walked the walk, or were still going through it all. This retreat was basically a dream come true for those who are craving connection with others. The opportunity to make new friends who are just like them. Moms, single ladies, entrepreneurs, yoga lovers…I mean…we are real people, right?! We just happen to have all gotten some form of cancer.
Let’s give a huge thank you to Cynthia Besteman, Founder of Violets Are Blue and to Leah Robert and Sarah Kelly, Founders of SaltyGirl Beauty for dreaming up this idea and turning it into a beautiful reality!
Which is another thing I loved about this retreat. It’s not just for breast cancer patients and survivors, it’s designed to inspire and support anyone diagnosed with cancer. In addition to the fun stuff like a Blue Apron cooking demo, yoga, and make-your-own-mala-bead necklace workshop, there was no shortage of education and inspiring keynote speakers. The medical panel rocked. The doctors were so relatable and the topics were really interesting. And when I think of our amazing speakers including Allyn Rose, Dana Donofree of Ana Ono Intimates and Tiffany Dyba…I just smile.
I was so honored to be invited to do an entrepreneur workshop called, “Girl, You’ve Got This.” That was a blast. We have some serious businesswomen in the crew! We had a great time talking about their ideas, challenges with their current careers, and all that good stuff.
Also, these girls were PAMPERED! Manicures and spa treatments. Followed by a pizza and champagne party with music by DJ Melissa (can you say Madonna?!). So. Much. Fun.
Did I mention the vendors? Our sweet friend Sonya Keshani of Style Esteem was there with her gorgeous headwraps, my BFF Beth Wilson-Parentice was there with her amazing, “You Glow Girl” book.
Those are just a couple of highlights. And the swag bag was pretty hot. Just saying….
The best part of all? The connections made at this two-day retreat are real friendships. We have private jokes and everything. We’re all continuing the fun online, but hope to see one another again really soon because…..THERE WILL BE MORE OF THESE RETREATS! So, stay tuned and thank you to Warrior Revolution for giving so many of us a home ….complete with pizza and champagne. I mean, what more can you ask for?!? Until next time. Muaaah!
