A Hot Date In The Hamptons….With Stella McCartney

 In Articles, Interviews

Leave it to Annie Hausmann, Board Trustee of the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, to pull together an event like no other.

She worked closely with the Stella McCartney team to create one of the most beautiful events that I’ve EVER attended. It took place at a spectacular home in Bridgehampton, a truly spectacular venue. And the best part of all? This amazing shopping event (offering a sneak peek at the Fall collection) helped to raise money for the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation.

Guests came from all over the country, including two-time breast cancer survivor Stacy Middleman, author of Dear Cancer, Love Stacy. Stacy, thank you for giving a copy of your book to each and every one of us! I can’t wait to check it out.

This was the 2nd annual fundraiser of its kind and next year’s event is already in the works.

I asked Annie how this relationship with Stella McCartney began and she said, “I literally tackled Stella McCartney and Ida Simonsen (President) at a similar charity event in LA 3 years ago and said, ‘why aren’t we doing this in NY, I have the perfect venue?’ I then called Cathy and told her we were having a fundraiser for TNBC at her house in Bridgehampton… #classicannie 😉  I had been thinking about doing something like this with a luxury brand for a few years, but I wanted to find the right partner. Stella McCartney is a sustainable, ethical brand with a holistic approach to fashion and a respect to women and the planet from the ground up. Given their mission alone, Stella McCartney is simply a perfect fit. And of course, the fact that we lost Stella’s Mom Linda to breast cancer brings the entire initiative full circle,” explained Annie.

I’m already counting the days until next year’s event, thank you Annie and Stella McCartney for this incredible partnership!
